Homeless Veterans Project – Packing Day

Enthusiastic Donahue Academy fifth graders got the opportunity to connect with Del Webb community members for their Homeless Veterans Project.  Last week our students helped the senior volunteers make up 100 packages of basic necessities for distribution to homeless veterans, including ‘thank you for your service’ cards.  These packages are being delivered to representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which through their network of volunteer social workers, will make sure that they get to homeless veterans.

This is what the Donahue Academy and the Ave Maria community are about.  Thank you Del Webb Veterans Club and members of Sister Maria Fatima’s fifth grade class!
